Our Story

Born in Space, Built for Earth

For over a decade, NASA has relied on Electrodynamic Dust Shield (EDS) technology to keep spacecraft and lunar hardware clear of the abrasive dust that threatens equipment on the Moon and Mars. Clear Solar was founded on a simple idea: a technology proven in the harshest environment humans have ever operated in could solve a problem we live with every day on Earth.

The Opportunity

A Space-Proven Solution, Hiding in Plain Sight

Solar operators lose billions of dollars a year to dust, pollen, and particulate soiling — and the tools available to fight it (water trucks, manual labor, mechanical robots) are expensive and impractical in the arid climates that need them most. We saw a proven technology already solving this problem in space, and an opportunity to bring it down to Earth.

Our Approach

Licensed From NASA, Built for Utility-Scale Solar

Rather than starting from scratch, we licensed a mature EDS technology with a decade of real-world reliability and focused our work on one thing: adapting it into ClearAdvantage, a practical system built for the economics and operating conditions of terrestrial solar.

Remove the friction between operators, manufacturers, and the full value of the solar assets they’ve already built. Every gallon of water saved, every hour of labor avoided, and every point of soiling loss recovered is more usable energy and lower operating cost — without the tradeoffs conventional cleaning demands.
